Summer into Autumn

Has it really been that long since my last post?!
It has been rather hectic but, I've got to show you some of the things I've been up to!

Well, it all started off with Summer and what seems to be her last little weeks of sunny goodness.
Of course I was going to take advantage of this.
A little weekend trip to the New Forest to see some friends and a mini pic nick when I got home seemed the best way to enjoy the lovely weather.

It was just fields and fields of purple! It was beautiful! :)
And so relaxing! Have you ever been to a place where as soon as your feet hit the the ground and the fresh air whooshes through your lungs, you just melt into a relaxed bliss?

And then for a very long journey home, so I decided to crochet!
(I am still only learning, so it's only a little simple rectangle!)

That feels like ages ago now!
Autumn has pretty much waltzed in, and that means that Halloween is on it's way! And I have some new goodies to celebrate.

I love pumpkins!
My little pumpkin pair's in my shop now too, come along and have a look!

I hope you all have a lovely end of summer, and let's hope we get a few more rays of sunshine!

Adventures!

Well, an adventurous week it's been indeed!

Firstly, guess who came bounding through the door with the rest of my post this week?

She's here! Pegasus from Dana's Wonder Forest
She's so beautiful, I just had to share her with you all.
I think she'll have to stay with me on my work desk, because she's just so darn lovely!

hehe, and so cute!!

I also took a little trip to London (before all of these awful riots!).
First stop had to be Camden Market!
How I love that place. It just pulses with energy and you know that everyone there isn't afraid to be themselves.
I think I got a bit snappy happy! Here's a few,

Hmmm *sigh* I do love how you can get so lost so quickly too. One turn and I'd be done for if I didn't have my sister with me!
Does anyone else find that?
Or is it just my rubbish sense of direction? :)
I love being swallowed up by the excitement and not being quite sure when you're going to be set free again!

And would you believe, we're nearly half way through August!
I've actually started preparing for Halloween (this is very unlike me!)
Take a look at these little guys!

I shall have to see where this little adventure might take me!
I might end up with a whole pumpkin family or a witch attempting to put them in her cauldron!
:)

Hope you're all well, especially all of those affected by the riots

InkLinks

Everyone, I would like to introduce you to InkLinks!
InkLinks, please tell us about yourself.

Greetings Etsians and friends from Lito, the creator of Inklinks. As far as arty streaks go I had always one under my sleeve, but apart from doodling and painting pebbles I didn’t do much with it. I focused on words instead: words that get inked down (Ink) and words that are linked to each other crafting new meanings (Links). Do the materials that we use to write –writing implements and instruments like pens, pencils, writing surfaces, inks, paper – influence the way we write or even the way we think? I went hunting for vintage office and desk supplies and I made some of my own. And so Ink Links was born.

There is something about vintage writing instruments and supplies – they have got stories which are embedded in their signs of wear and tear, they are written on – by time. These untold stories inspire me. I salvage all kinds – writing cases, old stamps, boxes, ink bottles, vintage stationery, battered hole punchers and Sellotape tins – and put them on Inklinks to pass them on to others, so that more stories can be written. Sometimes I add something to them – images from my pencil collection have been used to upcycle cigar boxes for example – and I use my own images or vintage pen adverts to create paperweights out of pebbles found on English coasts.

I’m a historian, freelance web content writer and blogger. I write about pens, pencils, inks and nibs in past and in the present, in the hands of writers, artists and thinkers in my blog Palimpsest.

You are so inspiring Lito. I love how you see so much further into "everyday objects", rather than just letting the physical presence of items take the focal point, you see so much more.
If cost and time wasn't an issue, what would you do with your talent?

If I could make anything regardless of the price and time it would take, I would create an office supply cabinet out of recycled/reclaimed materials. And set it on wheels.

That's a brilliant idea! I love how you take the meaning of objects and share them with us all!
To see more of InkLinks work, please follow this link and be inspired!
