Make The Little Things Fun!

Today,
one of those random little events that sparks something inspiring in your brain
happened.

:)

My little felt mouse ring was included in a lovely treasury on Etsy:

Have Some Fun

and the way the curator (SewHappyGirls) had described how everyday life should be fun too,
and how every day should be a happy one
It just made my brain spark!

:)

My intention has always been to create a little smile with my work.
I see all those grumpy people on the train to and from work
and I just want to see them all grinning away!
A happy face is much better than a sad face!

That's why I make fun little jewellery pieces and easy to hang wall art pieces.

I love typing away on my laptop and seeing the felt mouse sat on my finger, bouncing away with each tap.
It's as if he's typing too!

Simple little things and simple little moments that make us smile.
They're SO important!

Part of my New Years resolution this year is to appreciate the little things more,
and why not make those little things FUN!

Make The Little Things Fun

- That's my new motto!

I hope you're all having a wonderful day
full of lots of little, fun moments!

Having An Inkling

This post is way overdue I know,
but
today is all about my oober lovely

After craving for one of these for months and months,
Santa decided I had been good enough to get one for Xmas!

:)

I'd thought about the IPad and other drawing tools for the computer, but when I saw a little tutorial for the Inkling
it was love at first sight!
It just completely suited my sketchy style.
I'm afraid I find it impossible to draw just ONE line in any of my sketches!
There must be many to create a line!
:)

This wonderful little device captures so much detail, it's just perfect!

It's very compact and fits in my bag so I can take it on the train with me on my adventures,
and it charges through a USB cord to your computer AND it comes with extra ink cartridges for the pen!
:)

I am so pleased with this little gismo!
And all you do once you've sketched your doodle, is plug it in to your computer and open your sketches up in Photoshop or Illustrator (or whatever programme you have) and you can edit away!

So... if you've popped over to my website recently....? :)
You might have noticed some doodly changes!

It's been great for turning my website into something more personal.
My writing heads each page, and just like when I work on paper, there's little doodles and pictures around my work.

I haven't put any proper sketches on there yet.
That is the one thing with the Inkling, whilst it is super amazing, you might have to 'learn how to draw with it' if that makes any sense?

The pen has a sensor on it that the clip picks up, and because I'm so sketchy with my drawings, I often go over things a few times.
And sometimes the alignment of the pen and the clip aren't 100% bang on.
There are only small differences, but one time I was drawing a Pheeple, he ended up with 3 eyes instead of 2 because I'd gone back to go over it and the pen hadn't aligned to the exact spot!

So I'm practising now, practising not going back over my work.
Work on each bit, one at a time, and move on to the next.
:)

Once I've got that sorted you can see some Pheeple doodles!

But the Inkling is definitely something that I would recommend!
Oh, and and you can save layers with it!
There's a little button on the clip, and when you click it, it starts a new layer!
How fantastic is that!

Let me know if you have an Inkling, I'd love to hear your Inkling stories!

:)

The Valentine Pheeples

The Valentine Pheeples are here!!

:)

This is a super tiny post I'm afraid folks.
So many little Pheeples to keep my eye on at the mo, and they can tell that Spring is coming I swear!
They've got that extra mischievous glint in their eyes!

BUT
There are some very adorable, well behaved Pheeples decorating my website at the moment

Pop over and see the NEW Valentine Pheeples with their complimenting felt, heart lockets!

You might also see that there's quite a few changes going on...
This isn't all the Pheeple's fault, I will take some responsibility!
:)

I hope that you all like the new look
and I will introduce you all to
Mr Octo Pus
in my next post!

New Year, New Pheeples!

Firstly,

HAPPY NEW YEAR FOLKS!!!

I hope you all had a lovely time seeing in 2013!
The Pheeples had themselves a mini party with a few party hats here and there, but in all honestly, they were rather quiet...

...hmm, suspicious!

I think they're holding back for the beginning of their own
Pheeple New Year!

Yep, the new Pheepleness is nearly ready to be launched!!

:D

Yay!

We've been working hard and so far have a Wintry New Year Pheeple nearly ready to be released
(I've just gotta sort out a 2nd brooch and the rest of the story books)
and 3 valentines day Pheeples are in the making too!

It's all so exciting!
I can't wait to show you the newness!

For the very first sculpture pieces, there will only be 2 made, and these very special launch pieces will come with their own mini story books and will come with a special little something else to celebrate the New Pheeples!

Fancy a peek at the final set?

The wall art piece and little Pheeple brooch will be sold separately, but they will each come with their own little handmade story book with a story about that particular Pheeple.

This one is the story of
'The Snowy Pheeple and His Scarf'
written by myself

I can't wait to see what you all think!

:)

Keep an eye open for the release date!

I hope you've all had a lovely new year
Let's make 2013 a good one!

Coming Soooooon!

Hello to all!

Things have been very quiet in my Emporium lately, and I am very sorry that I haven't been able to natter on about the 'hows' and 'whys'

BUT

there is a new year creeping its way ever closer and with it will be super exciting new
Pheeple designs!

Whilst the Pheeples were away on their little holiday to who knows where,
(but wherever they went, they came back with bags of cake and jammy dodgers, so I'm not really complaining!)
they seemed to have devised a whole new plan for world domination!
They've told me what to do and threatened me with the no jammy dodgers at all if I don't help them.

 ...they know my weakness!

So to all who have missed the little Pheeples and their adventures, I would like to announce that they will return in January!
New Year
New Pheeples!

:)

Sneaky peek...

Each Pheeple art piece design will be limited addition pieces, made a certain number of times and labelled as such.
They will come with their very own story written either by myself or by Lewis Docherty
(he's written some amazing little stories for my work before and has agreed to work with me to create some adorable, little Pheeple stories).

There will also be some limited edition Pheeple jewellery pieces to go with each story.
They will be sold separately from the wall art pieces, but will still be numbered and will include a copy of the Pheeple story for that particular design.

I'm SO excited about this new little adventure and the Pheeples are just purely ecstatic!
They haven't stopped nattering about it since they've been back!

So.... to the felt room!

The new Pheeple designs will be sneaking into my Etsy Emporium in January, so keep popping by to see what adventures the Pheeples will be on!
And keep an eye on the facebook page too!
I will post all the new creations there and some sneaky behind the scenes pics as well.

:)

Thank you all SO much for being so patient with this new Pheeple movement, it's been quite an adventure itself!

Massive felty hugs to all!

The Giant Pheeples

I would like to introduce you all to someone quite special...

Minty The Giant Pheeple

The Pheeples are notorious for being inquisitive, but this takes the biscuit!

Some of them were feeling particularly nosey and wandered into old Professor Bucket's laboratory..
They poked telescopes and sniffed petri dishes..

Then one of them found the Top Secret "Calculated Unstabilising Trans-matter Expander Ray" (Or 'Cuter' for short).
One of the cleverer Pheeples deduced that this was a posh way of saying 'Laser gun that makes small things big'.

They all drew straws for who would go first - They literally drew pictures of straws, the most detailed and cool looking the straw, the less chance of going first.

Poor ol' Minty didn't have much of an artistic talent and had to go first.
He shuffled forward, nervous and intrigued - then suddenly, just as he turned to glance at the group one last time... *KABLLLOOWWW!! ZAPPP!! and ZOOOOP!!*

After the smoke had cleared, Minty was revealed to be twice as big as the tallest Pheeple!
He let out a (ever so slightly deeper sounding) chuckle, and then everyone wanted to have a go.....

(I would like to give a MASSIVE thank you to Lewis for writing up the Pheeple's adventures for me!
You are amazing!)
