... I'm Back!

I'm sorry I've been away for a bit... I had a
BIRTHDAY!!

Hehe, sorry, I'm one of those people that gets stupidly excited and will annoy everyone around me, just to make sure that they know that it's my birthday!
:)

I've been enjoying lots of lovely birthday fun times at home and then off to Brighton for a little birthday get away with Lewis.

I had such a lovely time, and have lots of photos to show you when I get my camera to talk to my computer!
But I'm back now and felting more of this mysterious character who's legs seem to be causing such a stir!
:)

I hope you've all had a lovely couple of weeks and are getting yourselves all excited for Xmas!!

(I'm allowed to look forward to that now that my birthday's over!)

Ooo, but before I go!
I've had a bit of a re-vamp with my little logo character.
I sold the original one quite a long time ago, and as much as I love him, I feel that it's time for a new little face to bombard you with cuteness!

Please be kind, she's a little nervous,

Olivia!

You can see her on my Facebook Page
Twitter and on my Etsy Shop

November...

I can't believe it's November!
It's actually November!
:)

Well, we all know what that means, "let's get ready for Xmas!"

But before I let you have a sneaky peak of what's going to be wondering into my shop later on tonight, you have to take a look at this!

They've opened today!
Woo!
And guess who's selling some work there...

Yep, we're now in Ossett!
Come along and see
:)

And just to tickle your curiosity a bit...

I'm sorry that I can't chat more today,
the felt is calling me and there are so many things to make.
(I've even started felting on my train journeys too and from work - and there have been a many a raised eyebrow from the other passengers!)
:)

I hope you all have a wonderful week, and start to get that little Xmasy tickling feeling in your toes!

Starting The Week...

Ah, a start to another week
:)

There's something really refreshing about a Monday morning, I don't know whether it's looking at all of the grumpy faces around me on the train to work or the realisation that it is Monday again, but today I just really want to get going with my life.

I want to felt all day and all night long and make some amazing pieces
:)

I've started some Xmas pieces already
(I have to admit, I'm quite impressed with how organised I am this year!)

What do you think of this little guy?

Just what you need for Xmas, a little felty snowman brooch to keep you company when it get snowy.

I can't wait to get my Xmas stock together.
I've got plans of more baubles, snowmen, Santa's, Xmas trees and maybe a reindeer or two.

I'm also working on my packaging.

I've ordered a whole set of labels from the wonderful

They're beautiful and exactly what I wanted to send off with my little boxes of felted goodies!
Definitely take a peek at her shop!
:)

They look rather lovely I think!
:)

Now
to start the week!
Let's get felting!

Unpacking and Presents

Well, a new place to live.
It's a bit of a change and unpacking hasn't really happened, but most importantly, the felt has been unpacked!
:)

It's not the tidiest set up, but It's more than what I had before,
a whole room to go fluff crazy in!
What more could a girl want!

And yep, you might be able to see there, being born,
my new little snowmen that I'm making for my shelf space at

What do you think?

I think I'm getting better on my timing too, each one of these
took me an hour and a half to make.
And they also inspired these little guys
which I think I've quite fallen for
:)

More of these to come I think.

It is all systems go at the moment, I've got to build my stock for Things British, complete a new range of items for a shop near Leeds, update my Etsy store and get ready for a new online shop I'll be selling from soon!
Phew!
I've got a feeling all supplies of tea bags and chocolate might be a tad sparse by the end of this month!

Oh, and I have 2 custom orders coming up too, as well as the felt dog that I showed you earlier (http://rebeccasemporium.blogspot.com/2011/10/just-quick-one.html)

Hmm, I think I might have to get me some minions!

So I think I've pretty much justified myself for a little treat.
:)
I may have possibly treated myself to a little awesome something from

Such beautiful work!
AND
I got a little set of pumpkin earrings!
Look at how they practically glow!
I am all set for Halloween now
Definitely pop along to her lovely shop for all sorts of lovely jewellery pieces!

My Last Post From Northcote Rd...

Yep, this is my last post from Northcote Road.

Bye Bye house!

You have served  us well, be we need to move on and get our little life started.
(plus I need more room to explode felt all over the place :D )

It's been a good little place, and now me and Lewis know that we can live with each other in perfect harmony...ish ;)

Arr, we're a little sad now, you've been good to us House.
We'll always remember your flooding washing machine and toasty warmness in the winter.
Thanks for being our 1st home

:D

Just A Quick One...

Just a quick note whilst I'm running around like a looney
- I'm moving house this weekend and I'm not even nearly pack!

Eeeeeek!

But I just couldn't resist showing you a little sneaky peak at a commission I'm making for a friend at work:

Hehe, I can't wait to finish her, but I'm afraid she's all packed ready to move now.
It won't be long though, and soon she'll be done and
I can show you all of her and the cute
little doggy that has inspired her!

Few, now to pack some more...

...after a cup of tea though I think

Carnaby Shelf... take 2

Just a sneaky little peak at some of the goodies that I'm sending to Things British...

They're all packed up and ready to go.
There's so much bubble wrap in there I'm sure they'll have fun on the way.

It's take quite an oomf of will power to pack this little guy up.

But I've told him that he's going to have quite an adventure, and to not forget to write me a postcard!
:)

Eeeek, I have butterflies!

Don't forget to pop along and see us at

Carnaby Shelf

It's all happening!

There are so many things happening at the moment, I'm quite surprised my head is still sat quite happily on my shoulders!
:)

It's all a mish mash of moving house, preparing a selection of work for sale at Things British through a collaboration of artists called Carnaby Shelf, and sorting out an article for the company I buy my fibres from.

Few!

But in the midst of all of this, I thought I would share with you a sneaky peak of what we're going to be selling in London.

Introducing...

It's all very exciting and we can't wait to get our work into Things British and start a whole new adventure in London!

Come along and have a look!
We'll be selling from the 1st October - 24th December 2011

And on top of everything else... Christmas is on it's way!
Eeek!

He's Here!

Yep, he's taken a while to get himself together,
but I can finally introduce you to...

Mr. Octo PĆŗs

Scared of squirmy, slimy, sea loving monsters of the big blue deep?
Well don't be! This is one Octopus that has enough love for everyone (He has 3 hearts after all!).

Mr. Octo PĆŗs - Known as 'Oc' to his friends - has decided to try and pursue a life on dry land.
All of his family have lived, worked and had families in the sea - and he's determined to try and break the cycle!

The trouble is, when he washed up on dry land all he brought with him are his "Can Do" Attitude and his lucky hat!

All he needs is for someone to put him up for a little while.. 'til he finds his feet.
He can't pay any rent, but he can do the hoovering, the dishes, the dusting, the ironing and get Dinner ready!
In fact, he often boasts about being able to do EIGHT things at once.. though nobody has seen him do it, but we'll take his word for it.

So go on, give a plucky little sea creature a chance of a new life on solid ground, and take him on as your new lodger!

____________________

As much as I would love to take the credit for his lovely story, I have to confess, this handy work is entirely Lewis's doing!
He is a genius I swear!

He's written all of the character descriptions for my little creations.
Rebecca's Emporium

... and yes, he is bonkers
:)

After A Bank Holiday...

Arr, I do love Bank Holidays! They're like little gifts that the calendar passes to you every now and again!
:)

And this one was quite exciting!
Apart from the mountains of sleep that I caught up on, I spent Saturday making my little octopus (you'll get to meet him soon, don't worry).
Sunday, me, Lewis and my sister went to the Chilterns Craft Show to look at all of the lovely goodies!

I might have spent too much money on flavoured teas and jam, but it was totally worth it!

And of course that leaves us with the wonderful Bank Holiday Monday!
Yep, I slept through nearly most of it!

But I did make some sales this weekend too!
So I woke myself up to re-stock the rings that I'd sold.

I now have a new Red & White Polka Dot Ring and a new Pig Ring.

I've also got a new Halloween ring in my shop if you'd like to take a peak,

I hope all of you enjoyed your calendar gift bank holiday too!

Summer into Autumn

Has it really been that long since my last post?!
It has been rather hectic but, I've got to show you some of the things I've been up to!

Well, it all started off with Summer and what seems to be her last little weeks of sunny goodness.
Of course I was going to take advantage of this.
A little weekend trip to the New Forest to see some friends and a mini pic nick when I got home seemed the best way to enjoy the lovely weather.

It was just fields and fields of purple! It was beautiful! :)
And so relaxing! Have you ever been to a place where as soon as your feet hit the the ground and the fresh air whooshes through your lungs, you just melt into a relaxed bliss?

And then for a very long journey home, so I decided to crochet!
(I am still only learning, so it's only a little simple rectangle!)

That feels like ages ago now!
Autumn has pretty much waltzed in, and that means that Halloween is on it's way! And I have some new goodies to celebrate.

I love pumpkins!
My little pumpkin pair's in my shop now too, come along and have a look!

I hope you all have a lovely end of summer, and let's hope we get a few more rays of sunshine!

Wednesday 10 August 2011

Adventures!

Well, an adventurous week it's been indeed!

Firstly, guess who came bounding through the door with the rest of my post this week?

She's here! Pegasus from Dana's Wonder Forest
She's so beautiful, I just had to share her with you all.
I think she'll have to stay with me on my work desk, because she's just so darn lovely!

hehe, and so cute!!

I also took a little trip to London (before all of these awful riots!).
First stop had to be Camden Market!
How I love that place. It just pulses with energy and you know that everyone there isn't afraid to be themselves.
I think I got a bit snappy happy! Here's a few,

Hmmm *sigh* I do love how you can get so lost so quickly too. One turn and I'd be done for if I didn't have my sister with me!
Does anyone else find that?
Or is it just my rubbish sense of direction? :)
I love being swallowed up by the excitement and not being quite sure when you're going to be set free again!

And would you believe, we're nearly half way through August!
I've actually started preparing for Halloween (this is very unlike me!)
Take a look at these little guys!

I shall have to see where this little adventure might take me!
I might end up with a whole pumpkin family or a witch attempting to put them in her cauldron!
:)

Hope you're all well, especially all of those affected by the riots

And so...

CONGRATULATIONS KATY PEACHES!!
